WHAT
WE DO
Help us help Africa.
Our mission is simple:
To end childhood poverty through education.
WE HAVE A DREAM.
Meet some of our children and see the impact of our work to end childhood poverty.
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.

Promise Village Academy began with a clear goal: To help Africa by providing quality education for Maasai children.
We started by drilling a borehole well to ensure clean water. This paved the way for us to build a flourishing campus, now home to eight grade levels. After that came vibrant gardens for nutrition, a poultry program, and a library and computer lab to fuel curiosity and literacy.
Each development brings us closer to our mission to help Africa and end childhood poverty for the Maasai people. By enriching the lives of Maasai children, we equip them with essential skills and resources to build a healthier, brighter future for their entire community.
Your contributions make a difference. Thanks to the generosity of our principal supporters, 100% of your online donations go to educating the students.
Education at the Core
In 2019, we opened our doors just outside the village of Lenjani, Tanzania, to educate Maasai preschoolers. By 2024, we had expanded our vision of ending poverty through education to serve 170 children from Pre-K through 5th grade.
Students learn primarily in English and master all core subjects that are required by the Tanzanian government. We plan to add one grade per year until we reach students in all middle and high school grades—your donations will help make that happen.
A Sustainable Future
To truly help Africa overcome long-term struggles, we believe education must extend to learning life skills that carry beyond the classroom.
In our garden, greenhouse, and poultry projects, students learn to grow and raise nutritious foods, preventing malnutrition and battling food insecurity within their community.
Clean Water for the Children
In 2020, in partnership with the Lynn Family Foundation and Water Boys, we drilled a borehole water well on our school site.
Before this effort, the Maasai children and their families had to travel 3 to 5 miles to gather water, which was unfit to consume. Students now drink their fill of clean water every day. With your help, they will never go thirsty.
Play & Grow to Thrive
Improving overall well-being is key to our efforts to end childhood poverty for the Maasai.
In partnership with the Lynn Family Foundation and Play Unites Us, a new school playground was built in 2020. The playground improves health, boosts morale, increases physical activity, and encourages school participation.
When coupled with our agricultural and water projects, these resources allow our students to not just survive, but to thrive.
And the Building Continues
In 2021, our school added four classrooms, bringing the total to 10. We grew even further in 2024, building a 200-bed student dorm, 10 housing units for teachers, and a new security fence.
Through generous donations from people like you, Promise Village Academy will continue to expand its work to help Africa and the Maasai children. With your help, we will achieve our goal of adding one new grade level each year to provide a complete high school education for our students.
A Library to Nurture Discovery
In 2022, through the generosity of Dr. Richard and Sandy Jackson, a state-of-the-art library was added. Here, children learn the importance of literature and books.
With over 7,000 books and computers with internet connectivity, the library offers something not seen elsewhere in the region. It is a place for discovery and furthers our goal of instilling the love of learning in the students we serve.
WE HAVE A DREAM.

ACT NOW.
Help us help Africa! Together, we can ensure these children build the future they deserve. Meet us in Tanzania, attend a fundraising event, or simply give online today.
