Eradicating poverty
through education.
WE HAVE A DREAM.

PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.
Promise Village Academy began with the clear goal of providing a quality education for Maasai children, starting first with a bore hole water well to ensure clean water. This essential step paved the way for a flourishing campus, now home to 8 grade levels, vibrant gardens for nutrition, a poultry program, and a library and computer lab to fuel curiosity and literacy.

Each development has enriched the lives of Maasai children, equipping them with essential skills and resources for a healthier, brighter future.
Education at the Core
We opened in 2019 just outside of the village of Lenjani, Tanzania. In 2024, the school served 170 children in Pre-K through 5th Grade. We plan to add a grade per year until we cover all middle and high school grades as well. Students learn primarily in English and master all core subjects required by the Tanzania government.
A Sustainable Future
Students learn to grow nutritious food in our garden and greenhouse and to raise chickens in our poultry project. These life skills will prevent malnutrition and food insecurity long term for them and their community.
Clean Water for the Children
In 2020, in partnership with the Lynn Family Foundation and Water Boys, we drilled a bore hole water well on site. Students now drink their fill of clean water every day. Previously the children and their families had to travel 3 to 5 miles to gather water that is unfit to consume.
Play & Grow to Thrive
In partnership with the Lynn Family Foundation and Play Unites Us, a new school playground was built in 2020. The playground improves health, boosts morale, increases physical activity, and encourages school participation. Thanks to other generous donors, a school garden was built to provide nutritional crops for school meals and to help students learn agriculture.
And the Building Continues
In 2021, the school added 4 classrooms to bring the total to 10 classrooms. In 2024, we added a 200-bed student dorm, 10 housing units for teachers, and new security fence. Promise Village Academy will continue to grow by adding one new grade level each year with the long-term goal of offering classes through high school.
A Library to Nurture Discovery
In 2022, through the generosity of Dr. Richard and Sandy Jackson, a state-of-the-art library was added. With
over 7,000 books and computers with internet connectivity, the library offers something not seen elsewhere in the region. A place for discovery and instilling the love of learning, here children learn the importance of literature and books.
